Flushed with the success of 2016, we aimed high for 2017 with a programme themed around medieval Spain.
We welcomed brilliant Spanish musicians, and we played a LOT of the Cantigas de Santa Maria!

Vicente la Camera Mariño wowed us all with his incredible harp playing.

Eduard Navarro visited from Catalunya, along with Jaume Pallardo.

Ah, the MMitD Tavern! It was a buzzing scene every evening, with music and dancing and enormous good cheer.

There were some brilliant workshops this year - here is Jaume Pallardo leading a frame drum workshop in Lord Scrope's Chamber.

The Castle Stages were again amazing - here is the much-missed John Mallett, playing in Queen Mary's Chamber

Asier de Benito, from Valencia, was a great addition to our Luthiers Gallery - here is one of his gitterns posing dramatically in a window embrasure!
