camping & glamping at mmitd 2025
Camping
Camping is a great way to enjoy Medieval Music in the Dales. You’re right on site, and you’re in an absolutely stunning setting with views over Wensleydale. Tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes are all welcome, but space is limited so you MUST book in advance, and early booking is advised. Glamping bell tents are also available - see below.
Please remember this is a temporary festival campsite, so facilities are limited.
We offer:
toilets
showers
hard standing for heavier vehicles
grass standing for tents and smaller camper vans
well-lit spaces at night
rubbish disposal including recycling
lots of onsite catering from around 8am to 8pm
But there’s no…
black water disposal: caravans, motorhomes and vans please empty before you arrive
dedicated washing up spaces
Please also note our temporary (though fairly luxurious) toilets and showers are not necessarily accessible if you have mobility issues. They are accessed via three/four steps. There is an accessible permanent toilet block.
Glamping
We introduced Glamping at MMitD in 2024, and are pleased to offer it again this year, with more tents and more options on bedding.
You get a lovely canvas bell tent with everything ready for you, namely:
EITHER two single camp beds, raised off the floor OR a luxury double air bed on the floor
bedding including yoga mat bed toppers, 10.5 tog duvet, pillows and linen
side tables, rugs, outdoor solar lights, rechargeable indoor light, bunting
a five litre bottle of water
a MMitD hot water bottle!c
If you are thinking of glamping at this year’s festival, here’s what you need to know:
book quickly once the Box Office opens. There are a maximum of 15 glamping units available this year.
each unit accommodates two people and you can choose between double or twin beds. If you are desperate to fit in a third, that may be possible but please get in touch before booking.
each unit costs £495. This includes two camping passes - you don’t need to get camping passes as well. The glamping option will be clearly marked in the box office under the Camping heading.
your unit is available from 5pm on Wednesday 11th September through to 10am Monday 16th September
the tents are in their own area on the lower field, handy for the toilets, showers and castle
We don’t supply cooking equipment, crockery or cutlery, so if you do want to cater for yourselves at all you will need to bring these - though please note cooking is not allowed inside the bell tents. There are plenty of catering options at the Festival, so you shouldn’t need to do much unless you really want to.
